  • Features: Antique
  • Condition: Baby Sandy stands approx. 16" tall. Her yes open and close with most of her original eyelashes. One eye has some discoloration. All fingers are accounted for but she has some cracks on her hands. Unfortunately, I did not discover until I removed her shoes and socks, that she is missing a few of her left foot toes and all of her right foot toes. Most of the foot is still in tact, and of course, shoes obviously cover her feet. There are a few areas showing chipping and pealing as shown in photos. I actually caused some of them myself by dressing and undressing her. She could probably use some tightening as her head seems to be a bit loose. Some clothes are not original to the doll that I purchased, and I'm not sure were original to Sandy. The 3 pieces you see laying out as well as the socks and shoes where with her when I bought her. The dress is a MY TWINN dress. You will see 12 VERY detailed photos so please zoom in closely to view. More photos are available upon request.

    Description

Child Star from the late 30's and early 40s Baby Sandy. She was discovered by the movie studios so she could be in competition with Shirley Temple. This all composition doll is 16" tall. Molded hair. Painted facial features. Open mouth with teeth. Strung well so she can hold a pose nicely. Marked on the back of her neck Baby Sandy. Over her compo is nice condition. She has typical crazing from age and time.
Description:  Baby Sandy is a character toddler doll, 1939-1942 by Freundlich Co., New York. Baby Sandy is all composition, jointed at the neck, shoulders and legs.  Composition shows overall wear, line crazing line cracks, old built in dirt, you may wish to do restorations to your liking. "Sandy" has all her fingers intact, she displays well even without a doll stand. Incised on back of her head "Baby Sandy". She is a portrait doll of the 1930's child star, Sandra Henville, Universal Pictures. Great character face with open and close blue green tin sleepy eyes that work, retains most of her upper human hair eye lashes, dark blonde brows, she has open mouth with two upper teeth and molded tongue. "Baby Sandy" has painted molded dark blonde hair with large curl on top of the head. An "absolutely" adorable face despite her flaws. She comes as shown in a My Twinn Doll Dress from my daughters doll.  It is newer so it Velcro's down the back. There is a full slip and panties, that may be original to Sandy, along with a vintage pink possibly pajama dress or robe.  She also was purchased with the shoes and socks that do not look vintage. I have taken plenty of photos. Please look at my photos they will serve as part of this description.
