Here are a delightful pair of composition baby dolls, antique ones in their diapers.
My mother collected dolls and these two are from her collection. One baby has very red lips, because it has a little receptacle for a baby bottle. It has the matching outlet on its bottom. The diaper is attached to the body in the back. This one is in very good condition.
The second one is like the first, but without feeding holes, etc. This one has some crazing and wear. The diaper is removable, so my feeling is that these were originally "dime store" babies. Typical of the early part of the last century.
You notice they don't have any other clothes or shoes, that is the way I found them. Both have frozen necks, as in the torso is attached to the head in once piece. Both measure about 10 long/tall. Have bent arms and legs and look to be string jointed.
If you look at my listings you'll know I am an avid Lenci doll collector. Doll collecting is something my mother and I did together. She, her compo dolls, me my cloth ones.
You'll notice the some crazing, these are not perfect dolls by any means, but over all very nice for their age. They have been loved and adored, and I hope you'll find them as much a delight as my mother did.
