Description
Up for auction is a composition 12 inch African-American antique baby doll. He or she does need to be really strong, and need some tender loving repair care. Her face is beautifully intact as well as her body. Her arms are in pretty good condition. But her legs are really cracked up. The glaze is falling off of her right leg and foot and her left heel. On the back of the left leg. I try to photograph this. It’s very interesting because you can see she is made of some kind of compressed sawdust or papier-mâché or something. She is being sold as is. I hope someone finds her loves her and restores her. Again I am not a doll collector, I do not know the value of these dolls so I just start somewhere. I am always open to adding things to the listing as eBay members give me information. I really appreciate that.My Mom suffered from Alzheimer’s disease. She was an avid Doll collector, Doll Doctor, Bear maker, fabric queen. She was a beautiful woman inside and out. She spent many hours dismembering her doll collection. So I am putting dolls (or portions of dolls) up for bid. I am not a doll collector, so I am describing these doll heads, arms etc the best I can. Keen eyes will know more then I do. I usually do know bisque from composition, from plastic. Sadly the bodies are not matched up with the heads. So this is like a treasure hunt. All items sold as is. I will adjust listings as I am given more information. Shipping is Priority, with basic in insurance.
