Antique 1914 Modern Toy Company (M.T. Co.) Composition Character Doll

Description

For your consideration:
- This is a c. 1914+ character girl (?) doll with a molded brown hair, painted blue eyes and golden brown eyebrows, and red lips on open mouth with teeth.
- Wears a ribbed red corduroy vest trimmed in black and a black velvet skirt over a cream tunic and molded brown shoes; socks have disintegrated, with some fraying of cloth on legs.
- Some chipping/peeling of face/hands but maintains decent facial painting/coloring!
- Marked “M.T. Co.” on back of neck for Modern Toy Corporation, which made dolls between 1914-1926 in NYC. Founded by Julius Johnson and Max Roth, who made Mama cloth and character composition dolls, and all-composition bent limb baby dolls.
