Very Good Condition! These are so cute I can barely stand it! This pair of adorable baby faced Mexican composition dolls are from the early 20th century, likely pre 1930 as the eyes are still painted on. Their faces are painted and detailed by hand, and their arms and legs move. They have a lot of original accessories: serape, hat (him); jewelry adornaments and a patriotic but faded red white and green ribbon in hair (her.) The finish bears evidence of both airbrush and handpainting with a brush. The paint is excellent except for wear and chipping to the feet from being played with by a gentle child:) Note the fine textiles and hand embellishment to the girl with sequins and the word Mexico embroidered at the bottom of the skirt. The boys hat and tiny serape are tethered on. The textiles seen in the woven fabrics and the tiny woven sombrero are very fine. Boy measures approx 8.25" H x 5.5" W x 4" D w hat. Girl measures approx 7.5" H x 5.25" W x 3" D. Overall an incredible find!
