Antique Effanbee Baby Bubbles Doll. 14” c.1926 Original Factory 4 Piece Outfit.
Darling, early “Baby Bubbles” doll produced by Effanbee starting in 1926.
This little baby is the 14 inch size with molded, painted hair, fevered cheeks and a ruby red mouth with 2 tiny teeth.
She is composition and cloth. She has full composition arms, head, shoulders half chest and back. Her legs are composition just above her knees with a cloth upper legs and torso.
She is wearing her original factory dress, pantaloons, slip and bonnet. Her booties are vintage, hand crocheted pale pink.
Baby’s condition is excellent. Her cloth body is free from staining, holes or repairs. The composition on her limbs are completely free from crazing, chips, cracks or repairs.
She does has some very light crazing on her face, which has been gently refurbished and filled. Her painted hair has only slight rubs but no crazing or cracks.
I am an estate appraiser and I acquired this baby from the estate of an avid antique doll collector. I will be listing more from this estate in the coming days.
This baby was kept with her receipt from an antique shop where she was purchased in 1983 for 1.60. It was pinned to the inside of her dress. (See photos)
