    Description

    Character Compo Doll, 12 Inch 1915 Era in Original Romper
    This funny doll is typical of the American WWI era characters. The 1915 outlook on toys must have been unique, since doll designers veered away from the pretty dollies and captured a more realistic child face. Painted blue eyes, open mouth and deeply molded hair waves are arranged in an enigmatic expression.
    The doll's head is made of cold-press composition  with no crazing. A seam crack on one side of the head is stable. Compo arms are disc-jointed to a straw-stuffed cloth body. So are the legs.
    The yellow romper is an original garment, with an added snap at the back.
