These, large 13" tall, vintage "CUPIE" (Kewpie), carnival-style dolls of
sturdy
(cold cast)
composition
are from the
1920s
and
stand
13 inches tall with huge painted, side-glancing (googly) eyes with hi-lites and long eyelashes, eyebrows, blushed cheeks, dimples, pug noses and smiling mouths. They both have
spring-strung
jointed arms
with nice finger detail and stiff chubby legs with rosy knees and flat feet to stand. They still have all their original paint finish and molded hair (girl's is originally covered by long brown wig with old ribbons). They both wear original blue and white summer outfits that are in wonderful condition.
They will bring a smile to your face every time you look at them!
These were extremely popular holiday

They have been safely treasured all these years and ready to be enjoyed for another century as they are in good overall condition (boy's hair has some paint chips which could be repainted or just covered by a hat) with no repairs or fading, no repaint and no odors as they are from a smoke free home. not included
and just there to join the
