Description
Welcome! I'm Selling a Very RARE Advertising Tumbler FromGaylor, Minn. (Minnesota)
The glass has the following Acid Etched wording on it:
THE PIONEER STORE, CHRISTMAS GREETINGS 1912, CHAS. BONNE & SON, GAYLOR MINN. Advertising glass tumbler.
Note: Though my photo shows the acid etched advertising is very clear, it shows the glass as being foggy - IT ISN'T!
THE CLARITY OF THE GLASS IS EXCELLENT AND VERY CLEAR.
Condition: Just as it came from the store in 1912 - no chips, cracks or any other damage. Most of the tiny specks shown in the photo are simply dust (I should have cleaned it better). As with all old glass, there are a few tiny bubble imperfections in the glass.
Description: The tumbler is 3 3/4" tall and 2 3/4" in diameter. Because Gaylor, Minnesota was very small in 1912, I would guess there weren't very many of these given to customers. Because of how fragile the tumbler is (very thin glass), there certainly couldn't be many in existence today! I purchased the piece at an estate sale in Eau Claire, Wisconsin about twenty years ago. A daughter that was conducting the sale said that her parents had lived in Gaylor for most of there life, but they had to move to Eau Claire about fifteen years ago to be near her during their final years.
Note: If you're from the Gaylor area, and collect advertising items from there, don't pass this piece up - YOU MAY NEVER SEE ANOTHER?
