    Description

This is a large covered casserole in the Otagiri Pussywillow pattern. The diameter of the base is 9 1/4 inches and the height of the base is 3 5/8 inches. The whole pieces is about 5 3/8 inches tall to the top of the finial. There is a 1/8th diameter vent hole in the lid - as shown in the last photo.  There are two 1/8 inch flecks off the inside of the unglazed portion of the base where the lid would sit - as shown in the photos.  There are no  chips, no crazing, or cracks etc. I don't see any utensil marks. The photos of the inside show a few glaze miss places.  If it was used it was carefully and not very many times. It looks great.
Everything on my hmnpwr site and my sister's 2vegburg site is from our parent's collections. They started collecting in the early 70's, mainly in the San Francisco Bay Area at the flea markets, shows, auctions, estate sales but they also traveled to LA or east to buy and sell. Their interests were mostly early American to midcentury American and Scandinavian ceramics. They also collected tableware, concentrating on California production. We regularly list new pieces that have been stored away for decades.
