Description
This charming and very difficult to find, antique circa 1930s, composition doll isdirectly from the original owner with illustrated and addressed provenance
and purchased in Nazareth, Pa. where she was originally made. Standing, 13' tall, she has a fully jointed, good quality composition body with a swivel head with molded and painted, short brown hair, painted brown, side-glancing eyes, brows and closed mouth. As her paperwork indicates, her name is
Anna Nitchmann
who was born in
1714
and a distinguished worker among the women of the Moravian Church. Her authentic costume was made by the
Busy Workers of the Moravian Church
and sold to: Elizabeth Gates of Bethlehem, Pa. from whom we purchased her. Every detail of her many layers of clothing is in perfect condition including her long pantalettes, matching petticoat, long sleeved blouse, skirt, vest, apron, organdy bonnet with pleated trim, scarf, pin, shoes with buckles and socks. She has no crazing, no cracks or hairlines, no chips or repaint, no fading or stains, no holes or splits in fabric, and no odors as she is from a smoke free home. Other original and equally rare, Moravian Church dolls shown in last few photos (see item #224356652098) are
listed separately and are
NOT included.
Please see: November 2006, "Antique Doll Collector, magazine for an extensive description of these rare dolls.
