DESCRIPTION:
Evinrude Dual (2) Lever Simplex Remote Control Box
Identical to Johnson Ship-Master remote control boxes
P/N: 173286 / 0173286
This is a super condition, excellent working reconditioned control box.
Complete with standard 1979 and after (fits 1953 and up) Type 479 OMC Snap-In throttle and shift cables and connector ends.
Shift cable (near side of outboard) is 10' long and throttle cable (far side of outboard) is 1' longer at 11' to
accommodate
the extra distance needed.
Box is multi-directional - can easily be converted from starboard to port surface mounting.
Light-duty aftermarket plastic replacement boxes without cables or ends are retailing for 9.95 and are nowhere comparable to the original rugged cast aluminum OMC box sold here.
At most marine stores new cables retail for .49 each and do not include shift and throttle cable end connectors.
Includes port and starboard cable clamps & fasteners for attaching cables to outboard.
Includes 8-page Remote Control Installation and Operating Instructions

Johnson/Evinrude/Gale Outboards --- 1953 thru current (with appropriate adapters) manual shift, NOT electric shift
Box comes rigged with two Type 479 OMC Snap-In control cables (standard cables that will work for 1953 thru current Evin/John)
Also rigged with throttle and shift cable end adapters/fasteners

CABLE MEASUREMENT:
11' & 10' factory cable measurements are taken from the brass tube end to brass tube end.
If you are measuring just the length of the black vinyl jacket, the 11' cable would have 9 foot 10-1/2 inches of vinyl, the 10' cable would have 8 foot 10-1/2 inches of vinyl.
