Description
Antique 6 Volt battery (not included) powered electric 1940`s era "pencil" used in some segments of the Flash Art / skin marking industry. The "marker" appears to be in very good to excellent used condition but I have no way to test it. I have sold several of the these pencils to Tattoo shops throughout Europe and the US.Great care and caution must be taken against and burns. However, that seems to be the popular or intended use in the world of Flash Art. The pencil is untested and sold as is. They were originally sold for etching metal surfaces such as tools.
T
he pencil has a hard plastic casing much like an old fountain pen. A twist out reserve supply of additional copper coil (electrode) wire is inside the pencil and is relatively unused. These are often depleted or gone completely and are required to operate. This one has almost a full coil of electrode wire inside. A second power connecting cord is added as a spare.
The top end is a wire terminal connection consisting of a brass nut on the threaded brass pole . The copper wire core is advanced as needed by twisting the top cap . The end of the power cord wire has an alligator clip for a 6 volt (only) battery.
The pencil has approximately a 53 inch long antique cloth wire that is fully functional.
The original instruction slip is included.
Overall the pencil measures 8 in. long x 7/8 in. wide. The original box is in worn condition with outside wear, mostly on the top lid. The box measures 8 in. long x 2 1/4 in. wide x 1 1/4 in. deep. There are no signs of damage or repairs to the pencil.
