    if your cv bolts keeping backing off, then you're probably  missing the safety washers!
    Ever  had your axle shaft fall off while driving? Let's hope not but  we've seen it happen! The culprit - missing safety washers -  sometimes called torque washers. Without these special serrated  spring washers, there is nothing keeping your CV bolts from  backing out. Every VW left the factory with these washers but  too many shadetrees decided they weren't needed so they just  threw them away. Admittedly these washers aren't easy to find  and usually don't come in CV boot kits, but still - we've found  it's best to put things back the way the factory had them -  German engineers don't tend to put superfluous parts on their  cars!
    These washers are the real deal - made in Germany by the  original manufacturer - Schnorr. One is required per CV bolt so  this set of 24 is enough for all 24 bolts on your VW. They go  convex side towards the bolt head. Ideally they should replaced  every time you replace your CV boots or just service your CVs.  Do it once - do it right!

    These washers are only used on 1968 Beetles and Ghias if they  have an autostick transmission as those got IRS rear-ends. These  will fit any VW that is now running an IRS rear-end even if it  didn't originally. If you have any questions about if this will  fit your VW, just ask!
